That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Montana Army National Guard: From a wreath Argent and Gules, a fleur-de-lis the middle leaf and tie Or, and outside leaves Argent.

Shield
The field is red, white and blue and alludes to the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation that the unit was awarded during World War II. The red also stands for Field Artillery and the blue represents Infantry, both part of the Battalions history. The white dancett symbolizes the mountains of Montana. The machete represents the units history in World War II during which they were known as the Jungleers under the 163d Infantry and the two broken samurai swords represent the defeat of the Japan forces in Papua, New Guinea, and again in Luzon and the Southern Philippines for which the unit received campaign credit.
Crest
The crest is that of the Montana Army National Guard.
